If you installed Social Snowball to your Shopify store and the thank you page feature isn't displaying, several reasons could be causing this. This article will go over each potential issue and how to fix it so that you can start converting all of your customers into affiliates ASAP.
1. Make sure you have selected a plan and completed your account set up
If you install Social Snowball but do not enter your account info or select a plan, this will cause the thank you page feature to not display. To finish your account set up, go to the Apps section of your Shopify dashboard and click on Social Snowball. If you are taken to the dashboard, then your account set up is complete. If not, you will be asked to finish setting it up.
2. "Turn customers into affiliates" is disabled
In order for the thank you page feature to show, you must first enable turning customers into affiliates in the Programs tab of your merchant dashboard.
3. The thank you page feature is disabled
Ensure the thank you page feature is enabled in the Customize tab of your merchant dashboard.
4. Using a 3rd party thank you page
Some upsell apps will take you to a thank you page not hosted on Shopify. If so, the thank you page feature will not show up. That being said, an affiliate account will still be created for your customers, and they will still receive their discount code via email. We are currently working on building integrations with upsell apps that have their own thank you pages!
5. Your customer didn't put their email in at checkout
If your customer uses a phone number instead of an email, they will not have an affiliate account created, and therefore, the thank you page feature will not display. We recommend making it mandatory for your customers to checkout using an email address to avoid this issue.
6. Your customer used an invalid email address
If your customer's email address is invalid, an affiliate account will not be created, and therefore the thank you page feature will not display. We can do nothing about this.
7. Your customer didn't enter their first name at checkout
If your customer doesn't enter their first name at checkout and you have the discount code format set to "first name + random number", no affiliate account will be created, and therefore, the thank you page feature will not display. We recommend making it mandatory for your customers to checkout with their first name to avoid this issue.
8. You made a test purchase using the same email you used to make a Social Snowball account
If you're placing a test purchase, make sure to use an email address different from the one you used to create your Social Snowball account.
