Sending an email campaign to affiliates directly from Social Snowball

Create and send a one-time, personalized email campaign to your affiliates directly from Social Snowball, then track how it performs.

Written by Ani Gupta

Campaigns let you send a one-time, personalized email to your affiliates straight from Social Snowball, using your own branding. They're great for announcements, product launches, promotions, and simple check-ins. Every affiliate gets their own copy, with details like their name, affiliate link, and discount code filled in automatically.

Campaigns are separate from your automated program emails and from any third-party tools like Klaviyo. Think of them as one-off emails to affiliates who are already in your program.

Before you start

To send a campaign, you first need to connect your sending domain so emails come from your brand rather than a generic address.

  • Go to Integrations and connect your email domain.

  • Once it shows as connected, you're ready to send.

You can build and save a draft before connecting a domain, but you won't be able to send it (or a test email) until the domain is connected. If it isn't set up yet, you'll see a prompt to connect it.

You'll find Campaigns in the left sidebar. If you don't see it there, reach out to support so we can enable it for your account.

Create a campaign

1. Click New Campaign.

2. Give your campaign a name.

3. Choose who should receive it:

  • All affiliates: everyone in your program (unsubscribed affiliates are left out automatically)

  • Specific programs: everyone in the program or programs you pick

  • Specific affiliates: the individual affiliates you choose

4. Click Create Campaign to open the editor.

Build your email

The editor is built from simple blocks, so you can put your message together and rearrange it easily. You can:

  • Set the subject line

  • Add sections and drag them to reorder them: Text, Link, Button, and Social

  • Insert personalization, such as the affiliate's first name, affiliate link, or discount code, so each email feels personal

  • Adjust colors to match your brand

Click Save at any time. Drafts stay editable until you send them.

Preview with a test email

Before sending, use Send a Test Email to see exactly what your affiliates will receive. Choose an affiliate to personalize the preview, and the test email lands in your own inbox, filled in as if it were going to them. This needs your domain connected.

Send your campaign

When you're ready, click Send. You'll get a final confirmation that shows the From address, who it's going to, the subject, and the email body. Review it, then click Send Campaign.

Your campaign is queued right away. Its status moves to Sending, then Sent once every email has gone out. Larger sends can take a few minutes.

Track your campaigns

The Campaigns page lists everything you've created. You can search, and filter by status or recipient type. Each row shows who the campaign targets, when it was created and sent, and how it's performing (emails sent, opens, and clicks).

The Status column tells you where each campaign stands:

  • Draft: still being edited and not sent yet

  • Sending: currently going out

  • Sent: delivered, with opens and clicks shown

  • Failed: the campaign couldn't be sent

From here you can edit or send a draft, view a sent campaign, or duplicate any campaign to reuse it as a new draft. Sent campaigns can't be edited, so duplicating is the easiest way to run a similar campaign again.

Check recipient failures

If some emails couldn't be delivered, the campaign shows a warning. Click View Failures to see which affiliates were affected, when it happened, and the reason (for example, the affiliate was deleted). You can search the list by name or email.

Note

  • Recipient limit: you can send to up to 1,000 affiliates per campaign. This protects your sending reputation, so a large accidental send doesn't hurt your future deliverability. If you need to reach more, contact support and we can raise the limit for you.

  • Unsubscribed affiliates are always left out automatically, so you don't need to remove them yourself.

  • Every email includes an unsubscribe link so affiliates can opt out of future campaigns.

  • Campaigns send as soon as you confirm. Scheduling a campaign for later isn't available yet.
