You can approve or reject people who signed up to join your affiliate program before they are added to it in Social Snowball. For this, you’ll need to integrate Zapier with your Social Snowball account. Here’s a step-by-step tutorial to do that. Once you’ve done that, create a sign up form via your preferred third-party app/software. Make sure it has integration with Zapier or Google Sheets.
For this tutorial, we will be using Typeform as a sign-up form and using its integration with Google Sheets as our data point where Typeform’s data will be stored.
The first step is to create a Zap. In that zap, set your trigger to New entry in Typeform (or your preferred third-party sign up form). Make sure that your sign up form should be able to capture the first name, last name, and email address of the affiliates. These are mandatory properties to create an affiliate account in Social Snowball. You can capture other information as well as per your requirements.
Typeform (or other third-party sign up forms) can then be integrated with Google Sheets to store the data captured from the sign up form.
You can manually add a new column where you can enter a “YES” or a “NO” adjacent to each entry, which will decide whether the affiliate gets approved or not.
The Google Sheet will look like the screenshot below (though you can capture other information about the affiliates as well if you wish to):
Now you can set a delay, depending on how often you want to review the entries to approve/disapprove the affiliates you captured using the third party sign up form.
Next, Lookup Spreadsheet Row in Google Sheets as the next step in this zap.
Set the email address in the Google Sheet as a Lookup Value. This step is important to map the new entries from the form to the Google Sheet. For the Supporting Lookup Column, select the column where you will write YES or NO while deciding on approval of the affiliates. In our example, the column is named Approved. For Supporting Lookup Value, type YES.
Mark the “Should this step be considered a success when nothing is found?” to False. This will ensure that only the affiliates you approve will go ahead to the last step, i.e., creating an affiliate in Social Snowball.
The final step in this Zapier workflow is to create an affiliate in Social Snowball for all the entries you approved in the Google Sheet. Just map the columns containing first name, last name, and email address to the respective fields in the Create Affiliate in Social Snowball step.
And that’s it. Now you can approve or disapprove sign-ups before they are added as an affiliate to your Social Snowball account!
