Social Snowball allows you to track affiliate sales with UTM links, as an alternative to discount codes. This is a great option for those who want to track referrals without offering any discount.

UTM (Urchin Tracking Module) links are include snippets of text added to the end of a URL to help you track where traffic comes from if users click a link to this URL.

A UTM link will consist of your store's primary URL + a unique tracking ID. Here's an example of what a UTM link will look like:

To set up UTM tracking, head to the Programs tab of your merchant dashboard. Either click on an existing program, or create a new one.

From within the program builder page, head to the Tracking Settings section. Social Snowball offers three options for tracking referral sales: Discount codes, UTM links, or discount links. Select the UTM links option.

Next, you can configure advanced settings for the UTM links.

The Link Format and Landing Page fields let you customize the format and destination URL of the UTM links that will be generated for your affiliates.

The Cookie Duration field allows you to specify the attribution window for the links generated in this program (between 1 and 365 days).

Make sure to click the Publish button to save your changes!
